Connecting the Dots

by Léon Egberts

At some point, we lost our essence
Instead of the one connection
We divided, spilt, and stayed divided
Lost in specialization
Lost in translation

We rationalized ourselves
beyond ying
beyong yang
We split our intellectual body
In more than a thousand sciences
beyond law
beyond religion
A thousand dots somehow connected
Lost in specialization
Focused on the nation

Disconnected
From the bigger picture
Our body, from our mind
Like a hotel, without a lobby
When the imagination
becomes reality
When lies become truth
The dots need to reconnect
To unite, for the greater good.
